Hello 👋

I’m Andy Kriebel, a Problem Solver, Product Developer, and Mechanical Engineer based out of the San Francisco Bay Area and focused on building products that solve sustainability problems and promote a positive future. Currently, I’m building climate positive technology and leading engineering design efforts at Quilt.

Originally from the East Coast, I earned my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, after completing undergraduate at Penn State. At MIT, I studied product design and development within the School of Engineering and the MIT Media Lab, researched product development processes, and taught courses in product design. My experience at MIT is responsible for my engineering curiosity, passion for product development, and creative confidence for solving ambiguous problems and making (almost) anything.

After moving across the country, I started my career at Mindtribe, a product development engineering consultancy in San Francisco. I gained experience quickly by developing a wide-range of award-winning products and patented technologies, and working with some of the most innovative companies and startups, creative design firms, and talented individuals. My experience there formed my perspective on agile product development methodologies, integrated design, and rapid prototyping.

Outside of work, I’m likely to be doing anything outdoors, like hiking in Marin, backpacking in the Sierras, fly-fishing a mountain stream, or road-tripping to find the best fish taco in California. Otherwise, I’m probably pouring over maps, cooking up dinner in the kitchen, checking out a new brewery or restaurant, or tinkering on something at my workbench.

I’d love to connect and work together, please reach out via email or on LinkedIn.
